Same Thing?

Are we all sick of the same thing? The same old routines, patterns, issues, and nothing ever really gets resolved. Honestly, I think we all are sick of it and wanting everything to just change or stop. It feels like we’re all caught in this endless loop—waking up to the same problems, seeing the same trends resurface, and watching industries profit off of cycles that never truly change. Fashion, in particular, is notorious for this. Every season, new collections drop, old styles are recycled as “trendy” again, and fast fashion continues its relentless push for more consumption. We know the damage it causes—the waste, the exploitation, the environmental destruction—and yet, the cycle keeps turning.

So, what do we do when we’re sick of it all? When we’re tired of seeing brands greenwash their way into sustainability conversations while still mass-producing cheaply made clothing? When we see micro-trends come and go, encouraging us to buy more, discard more, and repeat? We start small. We shift our habits, our mindsets, and our relationship with fashion.

Maybe it means resisting the pressure to constantly keep up with trends and instead curating a wardrobe that lasts. Maybe it’s investing in quality over quantity, supporting ethical brands, or embracing secondhand fashion as a norm rather than an alternative. Maybe it’s simply taking care of what we already own—repairing, restyling, and appreciating clothing beyond its temporary appeal.

The frustration we feel with fashion’s never-ending cycle is valid. But instead of letting it consume us, we can use it as motivation to demand better. Fashion should be about creativity, self-expression, and longevity—not about feeding into an industry that profits off of waste and overproduction. If we’re truly sick of the same patterns, then let’s be the ones to change them—one conscious choice at a time.
