New Year, New Us?

Sorry for the long break everyone, as we're all off enjoying the holidays it becomes so easy to get carried away in the festivities. The blinding decorations and laughter with family can really distract us from everything. As we begin this new hopeful year, it’s important to take a moment to pause, reflect, and ground ourselves in gratitude. The start of a new year always feels like a clean slate—a chance to reset, refocus, and set intentions for the months ahead. While the holiday season brings joy and togetherness, it also serves as a reminder of the impact our actions have, not just on ourselves, but on the world around us.

Is it a Crime?

As this year comes to an end, we all begin to think back on several moments throughout this year. We had many explosive events including a record-breaking election and several other showstopping pop culture events. Though one thing was constant amidst the chaos: the undeniable impact of climate change. While the world celebrated milestones, debated politics, and obsessed over the latest viral moments, the environment continued to remind us that it can’t be ignored. From record-breaking heatwaves to devastating wildfires and unseasonal weather patterns, 2024 has been a year of wake-up calls.

As we reflect on these events, it’s impossible not to connect them to the choices we make daily. The industries we support, the habits we maintain, and even the policies we vote for all play a part in shaping the future of our planet. While many strides were made toward sustainability, with companies adopting greener practices and individuals committing to reducing their footprints, the question remains: is it enough?

This year has shown us that action—on both personal and systemic levels—has never been more urgent. It’s no longer about waiting for the "right time" or "perfect solution." The time to act is now, and it starts with small, intentional steps. Whether it’s choosing sustainable products, reducing waste, supporting eco-friendly brands, or holding leaders accountable for environmental policies, every action adds up.

As we prepare to step into a new year, let’s carry forward the lessons of 2024: that change is possible, but it requires us all to participate. Together, we can turn moments of reflection into a movement for a healthier, more sustainable future.
